Former Firnew Artist Bonnie Dixon

My interest in art began in childhood as an emotional response to vision problems.  Recognizing sight as a precious gift it became important to me to share what I see and my insights as well with the visual stories I tell.

I’ve taken classes at the University of Maryland, Corcoran School of Arts and Design (G.W.U.), The Torpedo Factory in Alexandria and the Arts Center in Orange, VA.   But I’ve learned the most from other artists with the Firnew Farm Artists’ Circle.

Due to Covid-19 I have been working at home.  If you are interested in seeing my work, asking about commissioned work or talking about art, you can visit me in person by prior arrangement in my rented studio at Hazel River Art and Antiques where masks are required.  The phone number there is (540) 987-8440.  They are located at 12635 Lee Hwy., Washington, VA 22747 and open every day 10:00 am-5:00 pm.  Visit their website at www.hazelriverartandantiques.com.
