Firnew’s Holiday Letter

The Firnew Farm Artists’ Circle wishes you health, peace, and happiness for 2021!

2020 has been an amazing year of unexpected creative change and challenge with the onset of the Covid pandemic.  While meeting cheek-to-jowl in the old Firnew milking parlor/studio no longer seemed a ‘safe’ option, the opportunity to meet on the beautiful grounds of Montpelier was a welcome invitation.  The historical significance that ties Firnew to Montpelier offered our artists not only new vistas but new foundations to explore what it means to be an artist today in this America, in this time.

The Firnew Farm Artists’ Circle’s mission to support the arts in the local community reached a wonderful collaboration when the Madison County Middle School art teacher reached out to us to virtually teach 1 – 2 students from their homes.  14 of our artists volunteered to help individual art students.

During this holiday season and into next year our Circle will continue to meet virtually for ZOOM Critiques and publicly on Facebook Critiques each Wednesday.  We invite you to join us for our Facebook Critiques, the Virtual Art Exhibition, Close to Home, at Woodberry Forest March – April, 2021, and an Exhibition at Montpelier, We the Artists, in the summer of 2021.
